ANZACATA Conference 2024

Our conference will be held at the Ibis Hotel, Melbourne, on the 15th and 16th November. Dr Dave Gussak (Florida State University) and Prof Rainbow Tin Hung Ho (University of Hong Kong) are confirmed as our special guest presenters.

Registrations are open and the conference program is now available.

When: Friday 15th and Saturday 16th November 2024

The conference is face-to-face only this year. We are not able to make it hybrid, due to costs.

Optional workshops: These will run on Friday 15 November and include a 3-hour workshop on the application of Dadirri to arts therapy, a full day on Mandala making, and a 3-hour workshop on integrating neurodiversity practice.

REGISTRATION QUERIES: Please email anzacata@icms.com.au, so the ICMS event team can assist.
CONFIRMATION EMAIL: A confirmation email will be sent to the email delegates registered with. Please check the junk mail / spam folder if you do not see this email after registration (and then add it to your "safe list" in your email app).
ACCOMMODATION: Delegates need to book via the registration form to secure the group rate (accommodation booking details are listed in the form).
INVOICE / RECEIPT: Delegates are sent an invoice if they have not paid at the time of registering (EFT selected) and then a receipt if paid after registering. Funds may take 24 hours to clear the bank.

 

Special Guest Presenters


Dr. Dave Gussak, PhD, ATR-BC, HLM

(Florida State University)

Dr Gussak is Professor for the Florida State University's Art Therapy Program and Project Coordinator for the FSU/FDC Art Therapy in Prisons program. He has presented and published extensively on forensic art therapy and art therapy in forensic settings, including Art on Trial: Art Therapy for Capital Murder Cases (2013), Art and Art Therapy with the Imprisoned: Re-Creating Identity (2019) and most recently, The Frenzied Dance of Art and Violence (2022). He is also the co-editor [with Dr. Marcia Rosal] of The Wiley Handbook of Art Therapy (2016). He remains active in the American Art Therapy Association, and currently serves on the editorial board for Art Therapy: The Journal of the American Art Therapy Association and Arts In Psychotherapy along with other professional journals. Dr. Gussak has served the art therapy field and community in many capacities serving as chairperson, board or committee member for numerous professional and community organizations over the years. arted.fsu.edu/dave-gussak



Professor Ho T.H. Rainbow

(University of Hong Kong)

"Working on interdisciplinary research across the fields of arts, humanities, biomedical and social sciences is always my passion. My current research works focus on understanding the psychophysiological mechanisms and effects of psychosocial interventions for improving people's health and well-being. I am also interested in the social, humanistic and spiritual impacts of creative and expressive arts, physical activity, and traditional mind-body exercises in therapeutic and educational context for the betterment of human lives as well as serving as preventive strategy for mental and physical illnesses. My research works on developing biomarkers (salivary cortisol, telomerase, HRV etc.), and integrating expressive arts therapy and social work practices for diverse populations are recognized as highly original and cutting-edge in the areas of healthcare, psychology, social work and behavioural sciences.  My teaching and knowledge exchanges activities also build around the topics related to the sciences and arts of human services." socialwork.hku.hk/rainbowho
